Skingraft - Demo 14'

'Demo 14'

Review by Elek Malcolm-Madill

Genre/s: Deathgrind, Blackened Punk
For Fans Of: Weekend Nachos, Sangus, Mammoth Grinder

Toronto Deathgrind/Blackened Punk act Skingraft recently released this demo and I have to say, the members should be happy with what they've done here, its some great work. The demo starts off slow and heavy but quickly works it's momentum up to a stage of unstoppable power. There are many sub-par bands I've heard in the same genre ballpark as Skingraft that don't manage to achieve what they've done in the first two songs in an entire full length album. What I mean by this is that Skingraft masterfully know how to transition between heavy atmospheric pacing and fast, chaotic riffs all while managing to shell out fantastic vocals and maintain a sense of accessibility and catchy-ness. I'm really looking forward to future releases by Skingraft if they've already managed to do so much with just a 6 or 7 minute demo.
