Lie Still

'Demo'
Lie Still
2011

Review by Joey

Genre/s: Powerviolence
For Fans Of: Crossed Out, Mindless, Despise You, Suffer

This band was one of the best modern powerviolence bands, and sadly -- in part due to their short lifespan -- they were also one of the most overlooked and underrated. I mentioned them in my review of the Triac / Sacridose split as being "west coast powerviolence saviors," and they really were. In the sea of cheap imitators and wannabes (or should I say the Sea Of Shit...), Lie Still managed to keep things fresh and dangerous. And I guess it certainly didn't hurt that members had previously played in the legendary bands Benümb and Lack Of Interest.

Lie Still's music wasn't a huge break from the classic powerviolence formula, but they still stood out among their primarily mediocre peers. Their success (musically) stems from their ability to channel uncontrollable intensity into a focused blast. Most contemporary powerviolence bands fall flat because they can't reproduce the pure aggression of the old WCPV bands (plus they steal Crossed Out riffs and have ill fitting production and do the goofy football coach vocals and can't seem to write compelling music). Lie Still had no problem with this (or any of those other things I mentioned in the previous parenthetical). Their riffs were in that sweet spot between powerviolence and grind, where it's got a heavy edge but is undeniably punk as fuck, the vocals unreasonably angry, the drumming tight and driving. Unfortunately, they burned out too soon and left us with only 11 songs in 7 minutes. I was lucky enough to catch them on what I believe was their only east coast tour; it was with Triac -- what a fucking combo.

If you want some of the most badass, truly fucked up powerviolence that's come out in recent years, this is a must. Listen and destroy.

!FUCKED BY NOISE MID-YEAR ROUND-UP! - Joe's Picks

Okay, so it's June now, and that means we're half way through 2015. And what a year it's been, holy shit. As far as punk goes, 2015 has been incredible, and there's still so much more to come. This is going to be tough, I'm going to keep it to 5 releases per category (LP, EP, demo), listed in no particular order; and at the end I'll list some more things I was into, plus some releases I'm really looking forward to. Let's get to it.

LP

NO - Treating People Like They Don’t Exist

I reviewed this when it dropped last month and I'm still just as excited about it as I was when I first heard it. I've heard that they're breaking up soon which is a shame, because the three 12"s they put out are flawless and are perfect representations of to make noisy and unpredictable, yet raging hardcore punk.

MUERTE - Muerte

I just posted a review of this a week ago when it came out and like everything on this list, I'm still hyped on it. I listened to it five times in a row the day it dropped and each time I found new things that grabbed me. Deathrock is finally getting its edge back.
FOOT HAIR - Foot Hair

Okay, this one I haven't reviewed here yet. A friend turned me onto this and it's probably the best noise rock I've heard this year (sorry, Rectal). Take the nihilistic stupidity of Drunks With Guns and mash it up with the obnoxious sounds of Upsidedown Cross; and since that's not enough, crank up the scum levels. That's Foot Hair. You should be sold on this already.
HALDOL - Haldol

Here's another release I recently reviewed, and as it turns out it's another new deathrock jammer. All you need to know is this is suffocatingly dark but with enough aggression to still kick your teeth in. I sure hope we don't get inundated with nerds hopping on this deathrock revival and ruining it.
BROKEN PRAYER - Misanthropocentric A.K.A. Droid's Blood

The champions of modern synthpunk are back! Broken Prayer have somehow managed to make their synth more synthy, their angst more angsty, and their pop more poppy, all while funneling it into a caustic and nasty punch to the gut. Here's to hoping they do a tour at some point.

EP

PERSPEX FLESH - Ordered Image

UK goth punks Perspex Flesh have managed to top themselves with this new 12". They've taken their best qualities and made them better. I'm glad I saw them on their tour with Razorheads (which intersected with the Lotus Fucker / Sete Star Sept tour, resulting in a ridiculously stacked show) and they were just as intense as they are on record. If you're looking for a fucked up, dark punk powerhouse of a release, this is the one.
BÖRN - Börn

Have I mentioned how much I love this new wave of bands putting the punk aggression back into goth? Börn really draw from the post-punk side of things, but instead of trying to carbon copy that airy 80s feel, they go straight for the throat. Noisy guitar work and winding bass lines are at odds, yet compliment each other in a dirging dance of death (I'll admit that was a little corny). Also they're from Iceland if you care about that sort of thing.
SADIST - The Shadow Of The Swastika

I didn't find out about this band's demo until about a week after I'd posted my list of favorite 2014 demos, but had I known of them sooner they would have been on it. This 7" is three rerecorded tracks from their 'Blood Song' CS which, while still blown out, have clearer depth to them. I'm just waiting for them to play somewhere that isn't a fest / high profile show in NYC or Boston.
WETBRAIN - Vacant Life

Washington state has been turning out some incredible bands in the past few years and Wetbrain certainly holds their own among them. What starts out sounding like off kilter raw punk devolves into frantic noise rock madness, not losing an iota of intensity. This release is definitely a trip and I wouldn't be surprised to see this band on the Iron Lung Records roster in a year or two.
BLANK SPELL - Blank Spell

Oh look, it's another Philadelphia dark punk band who put out a great demo last year and an even better record this year! This 7" is comprised of a few rerecorded songs from Blank Spell's 2014 demo tape along with some new tracks which are consistent to their style and quality of songwriting/performing. Get dark, get freaky.

DEMO

URGE TO KILL - Take Control

I'm going to come out and say it, this is my favorite demo of 2015 so far. Imagine a more boneheaded 'Mankind' era Infest and that's all you need to know. You'll be breaking shit within the first 20 seconds.
THE DRIP - Demo

The Drip's demo has way too many memorable hooks and riffs, along with plenty of twists, some of which are pretty subtle, all of which keep me coming back for more. Oh, and there are some odd things the band did with the recording which I'm not allowed to talk about, but if something feels weird to you, that's just the way they want it.
NAAMAHK - Stagnant Pool

Earlier in the year a friend let me know there was a new Naamahk tape on the way, which, if you've heard their 2014 demo, you know is awesome news. I waited for months and heard nothing, and then finally it surfaced. It did not disappoint. These canadian black metal/noise rock weirdos have really worked on fine tuning their sound, this tape sounds bigger and fuller than its predecessor, but has lost none of the freaky vibes. I need more.
THE BUG - What’s Buggin’ You?

I saw this posted somewhere with the tagline "members of Raw Nerve" and I thought, okay, you got me. Well, it sounds like Raw Nerve insofar as it's fast, ripping hardcore, but that's about the only comparison I can make. The Bug is something else entirely. This band is way noisier, way more chaotic, way more unpredictable, and just all around way better than Raw Nerve. Oh and there's power electronics parts. Forget that it has members of Raw Nerve. Just strap yourself in and go along for the ride.
DISCIPLES OF CHRIST - 2015 Demo

I ripped / reviewed this a few months ago; it's still dynamite. The previously unreleased tracks on it should hopefully be on an LP in the next year or two. If you don't already know DoC, get ready for some of the best grind of 2015.

Other Notable Releases:
-Rectal Hygienics 'Ultimate Purity' LP
-Solutions 'Life Of Joy' EP
-Barcelona 'Extremo Nihilismo en Barcelona' EP
-Qualm 'Qualm' CS
-Blackmagnum 'Sick Of Living/Unwilling To Die' CS/EP (?)

Anticipated Releases:
-Sin Motivo 'El Desierto' LP (the two tracks they posted are incredible)
-No Form 'No Form' LP (they only posted one track, but it's totally fucked)
-City Hunter 'Open Season' LP (corny/racist antics aside, that tape was bomb as fuck)
-Condition LP (the 7"s were both great, can't wait for more)
-Dreamdecay LP (Iron Lung Records' spaced out noise lords return for round 2!)
-Cape Of Bats 'Violent Occultism' LP (I'm ready for the deathrock / black metal hatred)
-Flesh World LP (noisy aussie punk who apparently broke up, not mellow post-punk on ILR)
-Bone Awl LP (rumored on NWN! boards)
-Column Of Heaven / Suffering Luna split LP (finally?)
-Full Of Hell / The Body collaboration LP (or is that due out next year?)
-Triac / Sacridose split EP (do I have to say anything?)
-Gross EP (just saw them with Dilate and False Punk, the new stuff sounded sick)
-Internal Rot / Mellow Harsher split EP (Mellow Harsher's side is great, I need Internal Rot's)
-Gentlemen '終焉' and 'Pro Famine' EPs (why are there no good rips of these yet?)
-Sickoids (nothing announced, but I'm still waiting for the two records they promised in 2013)

!FUCKED BY NOISE'S BEST OF 2014! - Joe's Picks (Part 2: EPs)

I finally was able to narrow down my list of favorite EPs from this year, it's a Christmas miracle! As I said in part 1 of my favorite releases of 2014, this year has been way too good, thus making these lists so difficult. I'm not going to write a big preamble, so let's just get to it.

Part 2: EPs

'Ficcion Corporativa'
Rapturous Grief

This was probably my most listened to grind release this year and it's a total rager.  Rapturous Grief really seems to have come into their own here, plowing through 10 songs of relentless, stripped down grindcore in under 7 minutes.  This makes GridLink's final LP look like an overly polished corny power metal album (which it pretty much is) and the only 2014 grind release which I liked more than this one was the Full Of Hell & Merzbow collaboration.

'Looking For Love'
Total Abuse

Texas's kings of Whitehouse influenced hardcore punk have returned after a couple years of inactivity to bring us yet another adventure into the world of the perverse. While 2011's 'Prison Sweat' LP dealt with very personal issues, 'Looking For Love' brings the band back to songs about S&M and other related topics. The title track feels like something you'd hear on a Brainbombs release, but the other two display the dirty, gritty hardcore punk this band is famous for.
'Always Faithful' split
Jarhead Fertilizer/Purge

Jarhead Fertilizer (members of Full Of Hell, [this is not for you.]), start this split off with an absolutely gut-wrenching grindcore assault that doesn't let up until both their and Purge's songs are finished. The former feels like Discordance Axis if they were 10x heavier and the latter is just plain brutal.  8 songs, 6 minutes, no survivors.

'Gentlemen'
Gentlemen

Australia has been killing it lately and their noise rock game is no exception.  If you like nasty and disgusting repetitive noise rock, then Gentlemen's s/t EP is definitely for you. I liked this release much more than their 'Sex Tape' demo, which was still pretty amazing.

'Decomposition Fantasy'
Disciples Of Christ

After their split 12" with Triac, DoC left me craving more of their totally blown out, noise drenched, abrasive grindcore, and this one-sided 12" has only made my hunger grow even stronger (makes me sound like Galactus, hell yea). The first 5 songs clock in at just under 5 minutes, and the sixth song is a cover of Wire's 'Pink Flag' which is pulled off flawlessly. I need more.

'EGM'
NASA Space Universe

I was under the impression that this came out on a tape in 2013, but the 12" I got when I saw NSU said it came out this year, so I'm going to count it as a 2014 release. If you already know NSU, you know what to expect; although if you don't, get ready for a wild ride of weird, spacey hardcore punk with some of the fiercest vocals and ridiculous riffs around. This band gets better with every release.

'Wait For The End'
Pleasure Cross

I heard Pleasure Cross's ripping deathgrind massacre of a demo tape last year and loved it and was thrilled to find out they'd be putting out a 12" on Iron Lung Records this year. Well, this 12" is just as pummeling as the demo. Turns out, this band is the new project of August Alston of Walls, although you'd never know just by listening to it. Brace yourself.
'Mise En Abyme'
Cottaging

Blah blah members of Cult Ritual blah blah. This sounds nothing like Cult Ritual at all, instead of raw, horrifying hardcore punk, Cottaging has gone the route of spaced out noise rock. Of the two EPs they released this year, I liked this one more; the other felt as if the band had moved too far into post-punk revival territory, whereas this one rests at that perfect point between post-punk and noise rock.

'Razorheads'
Razorheads

You want d-beat/raw punk? You got it. Razorheads features members of a bunch of other bands -- most notably Bible Thumper -- and dishes out four ripping tracks on this killer EP. It's got the fast parts and the stomp parts and the riffs and the delayed vocals and everything you want from a d-beat/raw punk release.

'Plataforma/Autopsia'
Balcanes

I really wish there were more than two tracks on this EP, but I'll just have to wait until Balcanes releases more material.  These two songs are heavy, dirging, and repetitive with delayed vocals and the overly simplistic instrumentation we've all come to expect from noise rock. While not pushing many boundaries, Balcanes really deliver with their take on the classic noise rock formula; the songs are perfectly executed.

Honorable Mentions:
-Warthog “Prison” (stompy hardcore punk)
-The Coltranes “The Cat Of Nine Tails” (noise rock)
-UltraMantis Black “UltraMantis Black” (hardcore/fastcore, members of The Ultimate Warriors with a real wrestler)
-Blazing Eye “Blazing Eye” (hardcore punk)
-Iron Lung “Savagery” (powerviolence)
-Big Zit “Electric Zit Vol. 1” (freaky hardcore punk with vocals like H.R. from Bad Brains)
-Qualm “Passive” (blown out hardcore punk)
-Gnaw Their Tongues “Wir Essen Seelen In Dir Nacht” (death industrial/black metal)
-Gowl “Blurrr” (grindcore)
-Coffin Birth “Necrotic Liquefaction” (deathgrind)

H.S.S.R.R 3-Way Split

'H.S.S.R.R 3-Way Split'
Hellnation/Slight Slappers/Real Reggae
2002

Review by Brayden Bagnall

Genre/s: Fastcore, Thrashcore, Powerviolence
For Fans Of: Romantic Gorilla, Capitalist Casualties, Exclaim, Razor's Edge

It's America vs Japan vs Japan in what is probably the coolest tour release, and indeed split release ever devised. As usual, Hellnation bring their absolutely ferocious brand of powerviolence tinged fastcore, with razor sharp guitars and throat shredding vocals - they easily blast through their four songs on this split. Slight Slappers are a slightly more manic and chaotic affair, injecting powerviolence with sloppy thrash solos and sloppier riffs with 9 live tracks. Finally Real Reggae brings the beef with their crazy fast brand of thrashcore (again these tracks are live). One of the better live albums I've listened to, this split brings together three excellent bands playing some blisteringly fast music. Git on it.

TRACKLISTING:
1. Hellnation – This Is Progress
2. Hellnation – No More Favors

CxIxB - Self Titled

'CxIxB'
CxIxB
2013

(Band Submission)

Review by Brayden Bagnall

Genre/s: Thrashcore, Fastcore, Hardcore
For Fans Of: xBrainiax, Laarm, Backslider, Cheetah Chrome Motherfuckers

CxIxB are a blisteringly fast hardcore unit out of Italy playing a hybrid of old school and new styles
Taking the frantic powerchord barrages of thrashcore, and the more technical song structures of modern fastcore, is a veritable fest of stop starts, precise drumming and the always appreciated 'angry man' vocals. Italy's always had a pretty awesome hardcore scene, and these dudes are definitely keeping it alive with some totally kick-ass (and pretty darn innovative) music. Suss out their bandcamp below.

TRACKLISTING:

Put To Death - Selftitled

Hey there everyone, I’m Luke Pooley and I am another one of the reviewers that will be featuring reviews/posts here on Fucked By Noise. I play Bass and rip-off Spazz vocals for Frame 313, a bass and drum powerviolence band I share with fellow reviewer Jerry Kahale. I also make harsh noise wall under the name Angel Of Mercy and 7xMONx-esque noisecore under the name of Bum Spew.

I’m an absolute fiend for Powerviolence, Grindcore and Noise/Power Electronics. I also enjoy Hardcore Punk/Thrashcore/Fastcore etc. and Crust. My Favourite bands would probably have to be What Happens Next?, Sea Of Shit, Witch Cult, Water Torture, Neil Perry, Godstomper, Surf Nazis Must Die, Knuckle Scraper, +HIRS+, Dos Amigos, Warsore, The Endless Blockade, Insect Warfare, Waves Crashing Piano Chords, Vomir, Whitehouse, Despise You, Lack Of Interest. I’m always looking out for new PV, so hit me up if you know of any new shit that I might enjoy.

Hail Powerviolence, Smoke Meth. Let's Fucking Go.

'Selftitled'
Put To Death
2011

Review by Luke Pooley

Genre/s: Hardcore/Powerviolence/Fastcore
For Fans Of: Infest, Capitalist Casualties, Lack Of Interest, Crossed Out. Early/Cali PV in general

With Alex Hughes (of Insect Warfare/Hatred Surge/Mammoth Grinder/Knucklescraper fame) and Chris Corry (of Mind Eraser/Soul Swallower/Innumberable Forms) forming the brain trust behind this EP, it's hard to not to see how this EP will be an absolute killer. Put To Death's self titled EP (and only EP to date) is pure Infest worship - Brutal powerviolence/hardcore unsullied by any other musical influences; No grind, no noise, no experimentalism, no slow. Just fast-as-fuck hardcore, just how California used to make it.

The 6 track EP wastes no time jumping down your throat with 'Separatist'. This 25 second track sets the tone for the next 5 minutes of your life: Infest-esque barked vocals, blisteringly fast punk riffage ripping pace alongside mosh parts complimenting the pounding drum blasts; with the performance being pulled off here by Alex and Chris being absolutely tight and pulverizing. The vibe pulled from this EP is just menacing; everything sounds so fiercely mean. From the opening sample from The Thing of Kurt Russell yelling ‘Yeah, fuck you too!’ to Alex barking ‘Sick of sycophantic shit’ and everything else contained with in, Put To Death just brutalizes you with blows from their well-crafted hammer and never lets down.
The only disappointing thing about this EP is that Alex and Chris never recorded any follow up material for this project, so this 6 track slab of brutal powerviolence/HC is all we to savor.

TRACKLISTING:
1. Separatist
2. Serve No Man
3. Corrupted Pigs
4. Savage Execution
5. Put To Death
6. Man Made Poison

The Void Is Here Split - 51 - 50/Yoshitonic

'The Void Is Here Split'
51 - 50/Yoshitonic
2013

Genre/s: Grindcore, Powerviolence, Hardcore, Fastcore
For Fans Of:In Disgust, Excruciating Terror, Worn Out, Backslider, Spoonful Of Vicodin

(Band Submission)

So I got this super nice email from a guy called Justin, who's just started up his own DIY label , and the first release he's put out is this awesome split between 51-50 and Yoshitonic. 51-50's side is short, sweet and noisy as fuck - it's fastcore drenched in chaotic energy, healthy amounts of distortion  and raw fury. Yoshitonic deal a similar blow, albeit in the form of filthy, filthy grindviolence, with a dash of sludge and minecore thrown in for good measure. It's a brutal split, and I'm pretty excited to see what else both bands will put out in the future.

TRACKLISTING:

51-50
1. Sleep
2. Hyperfocused Youth
3. Whatever
4. Stone
5. Machozoid

Mental Waste - Permanent Damage

'Permanent Damage'
Mental Waste
2013

Genre/s: Fastcore, Hardcore, Powerviolence
For Fans Of: xBrainiax, Threatener, Shackles, Coke Bust

(Band Submission)

Well I gotta say I liked this band as soon as I heard the Watchmen sample, though it helps that they also play some pretty swell music. Breakneck speeds, thrashy riffs, starts and stops and seriously pissed off vocals make Permanent Damage a force to be reckoned with. Nothing on this release is over a minute long, in fact nothing is longer than thirty five seconds, so it's clear that Mental Waste have taken brevity to whole new levels. These guys have got a few releases up on bandcamp, they're all free and they all fucking rip. Check it out.

Genre/s: Thrashcore, Fastcore
For Fans Of: Laarm, R.A.M.B.O, Infest, Charles Bronson

Scholastic Deth were a short-lived, but nonetheless influential thrashcore outfit on the famous 625 Thrashcore label. The band put out some awesome tunes in their one year lifespan, a delicatessen of short bursts of feedback, blastbeats and whirlwind fast hardcore riffs. Backed up by some pretty humorous lyrics ranging from political to morose, bratty and aggressive vocals - this is one discography your collection needs,

Dead Language - Self Titled LP

'Dead Language'
Dead Language
2011

Genre/s: Powerviolence, Fastcore
For Fans Of: No Comment, Iron Lung, Low Threat Profile, Walls

Holy shit man, you should've seen my jaw drop when I first heard about these guys. Members of Iron Lung and Walls - with the legendary Andy Beattie (No Comment, Low Threat Profile, Man Is The Bastard etc etc). You can see why I was so enthusiastic. Essentially capturing the raw fury of the 90s scene, courtesy of Beattie's relentless vocal assault and pitting it against the noisy, angular oddities of Iron Lung Record's alumni, this LP is a kick ass slice of powerviolence goodness. The slow/fast dynamics are played excellently, while the feedback and noise brays angrily in between the bursts of violence and anger. Album closer 'Misanthropy' is probably the highlight - a 9 minute juggernaut of sludgy noise rock with some brilliant atmospheric noise work, though anything off this release is gold in my eyes. Ch-ch-ch-check it out.

TRACKLISTING:

Rainbow Of Death - Self Titled EP

'Rainbow Of Death'
Rainbow of Death
2007

Genre: Fastcore, Hardcore, Powerviolence
For Fans Of: Dead Kennedys, Romantic Gorilla, Jellyroll Rockheads, Mind Of Asian

I was lucky enough to catch Monarch! the other day, and holy fucking shit they put on a hell of a show. ANYWAY I was reminded that the members of Monarch! also play in a kick-ass band called Rainbow of Death. Rainbow of Death play a delightfully mismatched style of hardcore that blends the ferocity and intensity of fastcore and powerviolence with catchy hooks reminiscent of J-Pop (vocals and all). And on top of that, they throw in a couple brief moments of surf-y/skate-y punk (a la Dead Kennedys or the Adolescents). If that doesn't sound like the tightest shit, then you're on the wrong fucking site buddy. But seriously, this is by far one the catchiest punk albums in the decade, and it's great if you want something with a bit of bite - but you can still tap your foot along to. Unfortunately this EP is the only thing Rainbow Of Death has put out (and it doesn't look like they'll be putting anything else out), so go snag it and play it until your ears fall off or something.

Threatener - And The Bending Of Throats

'And The Bending of Throats'
Threatener
2006

Genre: Powerviolence, Fastcore, Noisecore
For Fans Of: Crossed Out, D-Clone, Triac

10 songs, 4 minutes and more stop and starts than you can poke a broken drumstick at. Threatener don't let up at all on this EP - it's some of the most noisy, abrasive powerviolence I've had the (dis)pleasure of hearing. The drums and guitars are raw as fuck, and will cut through you like the rustiest fucking buzzsaw in the shed, while the frantic, yelled vocals will beat the shit out of your dismembered corpse. You want a nasty piece of hardcore brutality? Go listen to this.

TRACKLISTING:

Mind Of Asian - A Small Elephant In A Large Forest

'A Small Elephant In A Large Forest'
Mind of Asian
2008

Genre: Thrashcore, Powerviolence
For Fans Of: Straight Edge Kegger, Exclaim, Razor's Edge

Yet another excellent Japanese thrashcore band. Mind of Asian are an all girl group who play a straight-forward, powerviolence and fastcore influenced thrash. While this sticks to the usual song formulas, Mind of Asian throw in a few segments with tradtional Japanese instruments, killer guitar leads and absolutely furious vocals. This is 16 minutes of brilliant thrashcore in just as many minutes, and you should probably listen to it.

(Note: There's quite a few tracks in here with titles in Japanese characters, that may or may not work with your media player. Download the alternative tracklist here)

'Endless Summer'
Fuck On The Beach
2001

Genre: Fastcore, Thrashcore
For Fans Of: G.I.S.M, Jellyroll Rockheads, Exclaim

Fuck On The Beach are probably the most well known  Japanese fast/thrashcore band, and for good reason. With their ridiculous name, hilarious fractured English lyrics and pulverizing, ferocious music, there's very little not to like. Here's 11 tracks of thrash-y goodness - complete with blastbeats, catchy hooks and shout alongs.

E-150 - Discography

DISCOGRAPHY
E-150
1995 - 2004

Genre: Fastcore, Hardcore
For Fans Of: Los Crudos, Heresy, Lärm

E-150 were a hardcore band from Barcelona, Spain who released some great stuff in the 9 or so years that they were a band. Here you'll find some angry Spanish language fastcore jams, that really don't let up on the throttle. The vocals are urgent and furious and there's more bedroom mosh opportunities than you can shake a stick at.

Marcel Duchamp - Contra Nosotros Mismos

'Contra Nosotros Mismos'
Marcel Duchamp
2006

'Pure punk energy'

Not to be confused with the French artist, Marcel Duchamp are a hardcore punk band from Chile. This here is 28 tracks of catchy, thrashy riffing with plenty of shout-alongs, with some great, urgent vocals to carry things along (think Dennis from Refused). While the band stick to some pretty formulaic stuff in terms, there's the occasional odd riff or guitar solo thrown in for good measure.

Pastafasta - Self Titled

'PASTAFASTA'
Pastafasta
2010

'Chaotic hardcore at its best'

Pastafasta are a Japanese mathcore/hardcore/grindcore/powerviolence/fastcore band, and boy do they churn out some chaotic, original and occasionally catchy tunes. Complete with enough noise experimentation and guitar wankery to make your brain implode, Pastafasta's self titled is a must-listen. There's a good chance you'll have no idea what's going on for at least 88% of the time, but just roll with it, because it's more than worth it.
