People seem to forget about Converge's earlier stuff, mainly due to the fact that Jane Doe is probably one of the greatest of all time, and it catapulted the band into legendary status. That being said, Converge's earlier output is an amazingly varied collection of tunes - and over the span of a decade their sound evolved from thrash metal influenced hardcore into the noisier, chaotic strand of metalcore that it is today.
