Pink City - Designing Women

'Designing Women'
Pink City
2011

Review By Brayden Bagnall

Genre/s: Noise Rock, Industrial, Post Punk
For Fans Of: Godflesh, Big Black, Have A Nice Life, Fudge Tunnel, Kowloon Walled City

Pink City are a force to be reckoned with -monolithic walls of industrial tinged noise rock with hints of doom and post-punk, droning and pounding together in the beast that is 'Designing Women'. Pink City sound like an amalgamation of the Enemies List roster, albeit an almagamation that eschewed the gloom and depression in favour of a heavier, crushing, robotic attack.  But here's the kicker, Pink City is a two man band, a two man band with members on opposite sides of the planet. This is an absolutely amazing DIY recording - I've never heard anything on this scale that wasn't recorded in a studio, and it's testament to the respective band members' creativity and immense talent.
